Four Inches of Snow gives Pocklington’s new Kersten snow clearing machine a good test

I just came across this review posted from Pocklington town council.... Better late than never. A really useful application for our machines and a great success story.

In late 2011 Pocklington Town Council invested in a two wheeled tractor and brush attachment specifically to deal with the problem of clearing snow from the footpaths in the town. The Council began to think this was going to be the best insurance policy they had ever subscribed to but on the morning of Sunday 5th February the town woke up to about 4″ of snow. The Town Mayor, Councillor Graham Perry, the town clerk Richard Wood, and the council handyman, Arthur Woodcock, soon brought the Kersten tractor and hydraulic brush into use. This was the first time the machine had been tested in snow so there was an element of ‘on the job training’. The machine handled the snow clearance very well and after a salting the footpaths were a lot better for people to walk on. Of course only the town centre was covered but in the next few days it is intended that all footpaths affected by snow will be cleared.

The machine came from Adamson’s at Swanland. 

We would be pleased to demonstrate it to anyone interested as it has been found to be really impressive.
